More Drone Fly Information

This specimen of a Drone Fly is a female, note the eyes on side of the head, and the much hairier thorax. In the headshot, you can see the insect feeding on pollen from the ivy blossom, click on the images to see full size and you may be able to see what appears to be a mite on the insects head. Today's birds have been quiet. just a jackdaw, dunnock, balckbird, wood pigeon.Drone_fly_head_2
