I know that I am never going to be able to get enough of Macro Photography. As the spring turns in to summer the opportunities are just going to get better and better. This morning I had another go at the Wood Ants and got a couple of crackers, this one was the best, hope you like it. Out at my Dipper site there was lots of interesting developments, read about it here, but you will need to email me for the password, go ahead and try it, there are lots of photos and detailed information.
I went out to the river equipped with just a video camera and the Tamron 90mm macro lens. My usual 300mm lens was at home! Image my feelings of frustration when, on my walk back to come home, there was one of the female Goosanders sat resting on the bank. An amazing photo opportunity, I couldn't believe it. I have been out to the river more than 20 times recently and have never had such a close encounter with one of the wintering Goosanders and I couldn't make the best of it. I took a few still shots with the video camera, just for the record.
