This is an adult male Grey Wagtail showing a black bib. It's only during the breeding season that they have a bib. I haven't photographed many males in full breeding plumage so it was nice to get the chance this afternoon. I went to the River Teign to try and photograph the young Dipper, this didn't happen but I did see it as it flew down stream before I took up my position. I literally laid down next to the water because I wanted to be at the same level as the birds, particularly Dipper. Almost immediately a family of Grey Wagtails were in front of me and very close indeed. The Giilie Suit was working well but my view was obscured a bit by the angle that I was lying. At one point one of the newly fledged Wagtails was just a foot or so from me but I couldn't put the camera on it because any movement and it would have beeb spooked. I did manage some good shots in the end.
