Goldcrest are a tiny species of insect eating birds. Yesterday evening as I sat quietly in a wood just enjoying the ambience, I caught site of one feeding at the tops of the trees, As I was sat on the side of a hill I was at eye level with the tree tops and had an unusual view. The tiny bird was constantly on the move and at times flying up to "hawk" above the very top leaves for gnats. I was very patient and spent at least an hour tryin to get a photo. Suddenly an opportunity presented itself and I managed a few very underexposed photos. I was able to adjust the exposure when I ot them on the computor but
This is a life-size close up showing what the birds was feeding on. They look like Crab Spider sp. I would guess that this is a female collecting food for a clutch of chicks somewhere.
