As you may be aware, I always try with my photos to put the viewer right there amongst the action and to try and photograph in a way that shows something that perhaps happens so quickly that it goes unnoticed. This series of a young swallow being fed by its parent is one of those moments. It is something that I have seen very regularly and when I knew that Swallows were nesting in numbers nearby at the local riding stables, I was looking forward to them leaving the nest. I even predicted where the youngsters would perch and wait for the parent to come and feed them. I have been visiting the stables regularly just to see how the nests were progressing and I knew that I would get the chance sooner or later. I scanned the fences constantly this afternoon and suddenly there was a young swallow waiting patiently. Using one of the posts as a rest for the camera, I took a few photos and then waited for the parent to bring food and as the youngster was fed I managed a few shots.
