I went back to see if I coud get some better shots of the Raven this morning and I didn't even have to wait, there he, or she was perched on top of straw bails set up to provide cover for the hens. He was, (we'll call it a he), was up to no good waiting for the hens to lay some eggs. I managed some great photos this time and I think, if I had the patience I could get better and better.
Believe it or not, this is actually one of the hens eggs and you get a real impression of the size of the bird when you see how comparitively small the hens egg looks. I actually saw this bird take 4 eggs in total, it was my impression that it took them off to store somewhere because it would fly off accross the field and then within seconds be back again! Once I saw it eating an egg on the ground inside the paddock perhaps because the egg had broken on the ground.
