Common Carder Bee - Bombus pascorum

I have noticed Common Carder Bees before at this time of year so I wasnt surprised when I started to see them in the garden this week.  They are an interesting bee, smaller than other  Bumble Bees with a noticeable striped abdomen. They have a long tongue and dont seem to fly as quikly as the other bumble bees making it easier to photograph them while they are flying.
