The Blog is back up and running. I was at Prawle Point yesterday!

I haven't been blogging this year because I wanted to see if I could post better quality pictures displayed via Facebook. However, I was reading through the Blog last night and decided to resurrect it again because I really liked the way it was presented even though the quality of the images wasn't as good as the originals.  So here is a photograph of a Northern Wheatear that I saw yesterday at Thurlestone on the golf course.  I had been to Prawle Point to see if there were any interesting birds to photograph.  I had read the other day that it had been "alive with birds".  But I have to say that it turned out to be an almost complete waste of time and effort, it was absolutely birdless and the only birds I saw were the usual residents that you would expect on a South Devon site.  Raven, Kestrel, Rock Pipit and Stonechat being the only birds seen. Very frustrating.  On the way back, as I was passing, I called into Thurlestone because I wanted to photograph the Wheatears that I had seen previously on the golf course there, migrating south for the winter.  Sitting down very quietly I managed to get some great close views and good shots even though on one occasion, golf balls were whizzing past my head!
